Gates Data Center Cooling Technology Featured in OCP Project Deschutes 5.0

Gates is expanding standards-aligned cooling solutions for AI-era data center infrastructure

DENVER, Oct. 12, 2026 -- Gates Corporation (NYSE: GTES), a global manufacturer of highly engineered power transmission and fluid power solutions, highlights its data center cooling solutions portfolio and collaboration with the Open Compute Project (OCP) ecosystem.

As AI and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads demand more cooling capacity, coolant loops are moving to higher flow rates, and the connections between components carry more of the risk. The Google Deschutes 5.0 specification, contributed through the OCP Community, establishes an open approach to high-capacity coolant distribution. Gates supports Deschutes-aligned architectures with complete, application-ready assemblies meeting cleanliness standards, giving customers an accountable partner for hoses, couplings, and assemblies.

“Our engagement with the OCP Community supports the industry’s move towards more open, interoperable liquid-cooling architectures. With our cooling hose technologies being OCP Accepted™ solutions and even more specifically with Data Master™ MegaFlex™ included in the Project Deschutes 5.0 specification, these highlight the role Gates fluid-management technologies can play in next-generation data center architectures,” said Rebekah Headley, general manager of data centers at Gates. “We’re helping customers move beyond individual components to engineered, application-ready cooling assemblies designed to deliver the cleanliness, flow capacity and reliability required by today’s AI and HPC deployments.”
